The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College Los Angeles was founded March 3, 1955.

The chapter was originally called The Spelman Club of Los Angeles and was founded by a number of alums in Los Angeles who had a desire to stay connected with the Spelman Community.

Over the years, the chapter has grown and strives to raise scholarship funds in addition to participating in various recruitment goals.
